Inc. , January 2008-Present,
Mechanical Engineer. Main duties are the design of engineered to order custom
MCA/SOLAS compliant hydraulic cranes developed in 3D using Solidworks for
mega yachts 50m or larger. As the project engineer for a crane, every detail
for each crane is organized in one central binder composed of Contract,
design scripts, customer approval drawings, creation of BOM and parts list
for production and service department, design of hydraulic schematics and
sizing of HPU pumps and cylinders for articulation of the cranes and
gangways, interfacing with the naval architect and Shipyard project manager
for integration of our mechanical/electrical/hydraulic system into the marine
vessel’s power systems. Other duties include FEA analysis of crane and gangway
designs. My duties have include submittal of test reports, load calculations
and documentation to classification societies ABS or Lloyds for MCA-LY2
and SOLAS approvals of the cranes when required. Received one patent and I
have a pending patent for lifting devices. One of my gangways was filmed for
a upcoming episode of “How Its Made” on the discovery channel
Enser Corp, November 2002-January 2008, Mechanical Engineer
II. Designed manufacturing tooling for thermal battery production using
Pro/E and AutoCAD to A.S.M.E. Y14.5 and GD&T standards in an ISO9001 and
AS9100 manufacturing facility. Development of drawing packages/BOM’s of the
various batteries in production and prototype stage for strategic and
tactical weapon systems such as JSOW Block II, PAC-3, MSE, THAAD, Small
Diameter Bomb, NLOS, EKV, SM3 TDACS, SM3 Third Stage, SM3 KW and AGS and
JDAM. Developed weld schedules and metallographic testing of weld
samples. I designed and installed automated feed shoes on several hydraulic
pellet presses of various sizes from 500 tons to 60 tons. Retrofitted two 500
ton Cincinnati presses via light curtain, addition of center quill and auto
feed shoe upgrade. At Enser, I created tooling and fixtures for use in a
Northstar Systems M500 Microfocus X-Ray used for real time testing and
inspection of completed thermal batteries. My duties also include
designing environmental test fixtures for 3-axis shock/vibration shaker, 200G
centrifuge, and a 20,000G air cannon for extreme G load testing and for our
environmental test group. Maintained and revised physical plant layout for
expansion of production floor, heat powder /lithium silicon production and
environmental test facility. Laid out and designed a lithium-silicon
production line and all tooling for use by a Kuka 5 axis robot inside an
inert atmosphere environment.
